Journal of a Gypset | Julia Muniz

Stay-cation style with #kahlokahlo dream girl and muse, Julia Muniz, for our ZINGARO 2020 collection.

How would you describe yourself?

I like to describe myself as an open minded person. I love when people close to me show me when I’m wrong and I’m always looking for self growth.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in a little town in Brazil - Vila Velha.

Where is your favourite destination and why?

My favourite destination is TAHITI. I love the lifestyle that they live and it really resonates with who I am. They are simple, humble and amazing! The place is incredible and everyone seems to respect nature.

You are about to launch your own sustainable swimwear collection, why is sustainability so important to you?

Sustainability is essential to me because I grew up with nature as my teacher and this is my way to give back to it. I definitely have a long journey ahead and still need to get better at so many things, like single plastic use etc but I’m happy to be evolving every day as a better human.

We recently collaborated with you on our ZINGARO collection. Do you have any highlight memories from this shoot?

It was amazing to create content together and be around beautiful people. Kahlo Kahlo’s designer is the sweetest, most creative woman I have met in a while and her passion really made a difference on the day. We all had so much fun.

What has taught 2020?

2020 has showed me to trust the unknown. I’m learning to live in the moment and embrace how I feel. There is no right or wrong.
